Expertise in Spousal/Partner Abuse – Adequate support and perspective when encountering this issue can save a life or a relationship, and bring a sense of satisfaction instead of dread to your experience. my focus on this issue can bring clarity, containment, and meaningful progress to your work with individuals and couples who are being abused or behaving abusively in their intimate relationships.
Expertise in Somatic Psychotherapy – It is common for our clients to “be in their heads” and for us to get caught up in there with them. To any clinical conversation I have with people at this point, my extensive and ongoing training and experience in somatic psychotherapy seems helpful redirecting and deepen the work.
In our conversations, I am attentive to the client issue as well as to what may be arising in you. I think of what I have to offer as additive or enhancing to any theoretical orientation. As I am with clients, I am also careful to pace our conversations such that the critical issues are tended to but deeper processes are not rushed.
