Forming an Identity

These two pages address the struggle to feel good about yourself, of self-definition, and the challenge of personal development.

It may be that there has been no room for who you really are. Or maybe no one has been there to guide you or to appreciate you.

There can be so much pressure from our families, communities, the media, and society at large that it can be hard to find out who we are and what is right for us. Glimmers of a “true self” can be extinguished by one negative comment if not many.

In this non-judgmental environment, free of demands and expectations, individual therapy is an opportunity to sift through the material of your life to find the gem that is you.

What if I’m afraid of what I’ll find or I don’t like what I see in myself?
