Trauma and PTSD
A severe violation or shock to the system forces us into an unforgiving relationship with our vulnerability, our fragility, and even our mortality.
Responses to this can vary, but people tend to rigidify in an instinctive attempt to stay in control of an overwhelming situation.
Sometimes people get “stuck” in this rigid defense-pattern. At other times they may feel defeated, collapsed, and profoundly demoralized, even ashamed.
In a gradual but powerful process, I work with clients to soften structures that have them locked-up and to build a sense of structure and substance where before they may have felt deflated, helpless, and empty.
